REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY

The plain-English version

We're a small, independently funded team, so we keep this simple and fair. Changed your mind and haven't run anything yet? Email us within 14 days and we'll refund you, no runaround. Once you've actually started running simulations for the month, that month's compute is used up and isn't refundable — but you can cancel anytime to stop all future charges. EU/UK consumers have a legal 14-day right of withdrawal, explained in section 3. No dark patterns.

This summary is for convenience only. The full policy below is what legally applies.

1. SUBSCRIPTION CANCELLATION

You may cancel your paid subscription at any time through your account dashboard. Upon cancellation, your subscription will remain active, and you will retain access to the paid tier benefits, until the end of your current billing period. No further recurring charges will be made.

2. 14-DAY REFUND POLICY & EXCEPTIONS

We offer a 14-day refund policy from the date of purchase for our subscription plans. To be eligible for a refund, you must submit a request to our support team within fourteen (14) days of the transaction.

Compute Resource & Token Activation Exception: Because our service provides instantly provisioned digital resources (virtual CPU/MCU cycles, simulation sessions, and network link emulation), your refund eligibility is waived once compute resources are initiated. Specifically, generating an access token and using it to initiate a connection (establishing an active simulation or API session) constitutes activation of that month's compute usage, making that billing cycle ineligible for a refund. This protects us from abuse while keeping genuine mistakes fully refundable.

This section does not limit the statutory rights of EU/UK consumers, which are set out in section 3 and prevail over this section where more favorable to the consumer.

3. EU/UK CONSUMERS — 14-DAY RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL

If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have a statutory right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of entering into the contract, without giving a reason (EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU; UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013). This right is in addition to, and prevails where more favorable over, the general policy in section 2. As a consumer you are not subject to the “one session consumes the whole billing cycle” rule beyond what your statutory withdrawal right allows — on withdrawal you owe at most a pro-rata amount for the service actually supplied, not the whole cycle.

How performance and withdrawal interact (digital service): VirtMCU is supplied as an ongoing digital service that begins immediately on your request. To have the Service begin before the 14-day period ends, you must (1) expressly request that we begin performance immediately, and (2) acknowledge that if you then withdraw during the 14-day period you will pay a pro-rata amount for the portion of the service actually supplied up to your withdrawal, and that you lose the right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed with your prior express consent.

If you provide that consent and we begin the Service, and you later withdraw within the 14 days, we refund what you paid less the pro-rata value of the service supplied up to your withdrawal. If you do not provide that consent, we do not begin performance until the withdrawal period ends or you provide the consent, and you may withdraw within the 14 days for a full refund.

To withdraw, send a clear statement to support@virtmcu.com within the 14-day period (you may but need not use a model withdrawal form). Eligible refunds are returned via the original payment method through Stripe within the period required by law.

4. HOW REFUNDS ARE ISSUED

Approved refunds are processed by Stripe (merchant of record) to your original payment method. Timing depends on your payment provider. Because Stripe is the merchant of record, your card/bank statement and invoice reflect Stripe as the seller of record.
